portrait of life - is the try to keep the sensitivness and the feel of matter, substance and material - the small leather manufactory was founded by Teresa Fischer in 2015 with the aim to keep the pure and honest craftsmanship alive. Her process of manufacturing a leather good is reduced to a minimum of consumption by working with simple and old tools and machines coming from traditional shoemaking crafts. All bags are hand cut and the focus is on a “one piece” pattern which fits to the special characteristics of a leather hide. Working with this traditional practice slows down the process of making a product and let us get in close contact to the material to get its best and most sustainable usage. In this vein -portrait of life- manufactures in small batches and made to order. To work by order and consider specific needs of the costumer ensures to get a long-lasting and beloved product. This helps to make our impact on the environment remains as limited as possible.
